  • Studies have shown that parents want to know how they can help children / adolescents both at home and at school.
  • Adequate communication between parents and teachers can help teachers to assess and understand children’s/ adolescent’s:

    • Interest and
    • Capabilities
  • For parents and teachers to feel like they are collaborating successfully, the parents should feel welcomed in schools
  • Social events for parents can be helpful for this goal
  • Parenting knowledge, attitudes, and practices depend on contextual factors, including:
    • Children’s characteristics (e.g., gender, temperament)
    • Parents’ own experiences from their childhood
