Being part of a peer group can positively influence children’s’ and adolescent’s mental and physical health, social adaptation and wellbeing.

However, being part of a group can also mean that children and adolescents might be negatively peer pressured.

Empowering children and adolescents to be autonomous and confident can have a great influence on how they deal with health-compromising behaviors, and it can act as a shield against peer pressure.
